Dear Friends,
On November 4th, you helped make history by electing me the next State's Attorney of Cook County. Your support has enabled me to achieve this tremendous goal and I am honored, humbled and deeply grateful. The election was an exciting and challenging process and I thank you for being there with me every step of the way.
We are very proud of the campaign that we waged in this important race because we stayed above board and we focused on the critical law enforcement issues that affect the citizens of Cook County. We were tough, but we were truthful and we stayed focused on our message.
I am certainly cognizant of the historic nature of my victory and I celebrate that. But I also understand that making history carries a certain level of responsibility along with it. I will be representing the important views and ideals of many different segments of our electorate and I will always honor that responsibility.
With last Tuesday's tremendous results, the campaign is over and we begin a new mission that will require a lot of hard work. I will stay busy in the next couple of weeks working to prepare for my return to the State's Attorney's Office where I plan to hit the ground running with an ambitious agenda.
I will remain in touch and I hope that I can count on your continued support.
Best regards,
Anita Alvarez
